
The following GO GREEN! programs and activities will be
offered
throughout the summer. Sign up for one or all and start earning the GO GREEN! patch. Download
the PDF Registration
Form and turn it in for each activity you wish to participate
in.
Event #1 –
Saturday, June 7, 2008, 9am to 1pm
Camp Singing Hills
This will serve as the kick off to the GO GREEN! program. Bring your
family and friends! Come learn how you can Discover, Connect &
Take Action to keep our world environmentally healthy. A
variety of activities & experiences for the entire family will
include information booths about recycling, composting, container
planting, making bird & bat houses, crafts, etc. You will also
meet the summer camp staff and tour the camp.
Event # 2 - Wednesday,
June 11, 2008,
9am – Noon
York Hill Horse Park,
Albion Road and 290 W., Albion, IN
Join us to place our newly made blue bird and bat houses throughout the
600 acres of rolling meadows. Plant flowers, help with landscape
projects, enjoy nature and do some hiking. This is an outdoor
experience so you will need to dress appropriately for the weather that
day. Lunch will be provided at the horse park.

July 10, 2008
9:30-10:30 Elkhart
County Landfill tour, 26488 CR 26,
Elkhart.
11:30 – 12:30
Omni Resources, 812 Logan St., Goshen
12:30 – 4:00
Shanklin Park, 411 W. Plymouth Ave., Goshen
The Elkhart County Landfill Tour will focus on “How wasteful
are we?” After this tour, participants will head on to Omni
Resources Recycling Center for a tour. This will be followed by lunch
and swimming at Shanklin Park. Lunch will be provided. Bring a
swimsuit, towel and personal necessities.
Event #4 –
August 7, 2008, 10 am – 1 pm
Elkhart Environmental
Center, 1717 East Lusher Ave., Elkhart, IN
“What is Composting?” Come and
learn all about this method of natural recycling. Enjoy a
Nature Scavenger Hunt and picnic lunch. This program has a limit of 50
people so only the first 50 registered Girl Scouts will able to attend.
Lunch will be provided.
Goodwill Tours:
Group tours of the South Bend facility at 1805 W.
Western Ave., South Bend, will be available on Wednesday, June 11th,
2008 between 7:30 am. – 3:00 pm.; Thursday, June 12th, 2008
1-3 pm. only; and Tuesday, July 15th, 2008 between 7:30 am. –
3:00 pm. Each girl attending the tour should bring a bag full of
donations. The Goodwill patch will be earned. To set up a time on one
of the three days for your troop to tour, please call Patricia Sicol at

Morschs Park, Columbia
City will need our help to plant 300 bulbs in
mid-October. Please check out our calendar for the confirmed dates if
you would like to participate or help out.
KC Recycling
has a speaker that will work with troops or individuals
directly. Please contact them and ask for Sue Studabaker at

Goshen Parks Department
will help troops with environmental studies to
